Anthony (AJ) Hill is counsel in Barnes & Thornburg’s Real Estate Department. He focuses his practice on complex real estate matters, advising clients on transactions involving the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of real property assets, as well as land-use regulations surrounding the project.
AJ assists clients throughout all phases of real estate transactions, including drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, loan and financing documents, and related transactional materials. He supports lenders, developers, and property owners in structuring and executing deals involving a range of commercial property types and helps guide transactions from due diligence through closing. AJ also advises clients on real estate related land-use approvals and other regulatory considerations.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, AJ spent over a decade at every level of government, handling a variety of matters spanning from appeals of Zoning Board of Adjustment decisions to homicide prosecutions. As well, AJ previously served as the Chairperson of the City of Wilmington’s Planning Commission where he crafted policy and led decision-making on many multimillion-dollar real estate developments planned for Delaware’s largest city.
